What you need
A theme that supports app blocks.
Getting started
- Open the theme editor and choose a product template that supports app blocks.
- Add the “Prior price” app block (Caravel Omnibus) near the product price, then save the theme.
- Wait for the first price check, then preview a discounted variant. Missing prices are never invented.
- On Unlimited, enable the “Collection prior prices” app embed and test your theme’s product cards and variant selector.
Good to know
Installation captures current prices, not the previous 30 days. Existing products need observation time. New products use available prices since launch, with incomplete coverage clearly marked.
Strict mode looks at the 30 days before a reduction starts. Progressive mode keeps the reference before the first reduction in an uninterrupted sequence. Rolling mode moves the window daily.
Confirm the applicable national rules, exceptions and promotion wording. The app provides recorded evidence and calculations, not a legal certification.
No buyer profiles or orders are collected. Stored data includes catalogue prices and identifiers, shop settings and plan, capture jobs, privacy-request metadata, and installation sessions with access credentials and any merchant user details supplied during authentication.
Frequently asked questions
Can I recover older prices?
No. Recording starts from observed catalogue data.
Must I edit my theme files?
No. Add the “Prior price” block in the theme editor; its metafield setup is automatic.
Does it collect customer information?
No buyer profiles or orders are collected. Stored data includes catalogue prices and identifiers, shop settings and plan, capture jobs, privacy-request metadata, and installation sessions with access credentials and any merchant user details supplied during authentication.
Does it replace a legal review?
No. Review local requirements and the selected calculation mode.
Which languages are available?
Admin pages and default storefront messages support English, European Portuguese, Spanish, French, German and Italian. Custom labels are not translated automatically.
Can I use collection badges with my theme?
Unlimited badges support products with a single variant on compatible collection cards. Match the products-per-page setting to your theme and check dynamically loaded collections.
Does it record local-currency or market-specific prices?
No. References appear when the displayed currency matches the shop currency. Local-currency and market-specific price history are not supported.
