Data processed when you visit
As with any website, the server that delivers the pages receives technical data needed to send them to you and to keep the service secure: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and device type. Our hosting provider processes this data on our behalf in server logs, kept for no more than 30 days for security and troubleshooting. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you choose a light or dark theme, that choice is saved only in your own browser (local storage) and is never sent to us.
Data processed when you email us
If you write to caravel@caravelsuite.com, we process your email address, name (if given) and the content of your message to reply and, where relevant, to take steps before a contract. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you and, where applicable, pre-contractual steps (article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Our email hosting provider processes these messages on our behalf. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and then for any period required by law, such as tax rules where a message relates to a purchase.
Payments
If you buy a subscription on this website, the checkout and payment are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd ("Paddle"), our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle receives the data you enter at checkout (such as your name, email address, billing country and payment details) and is responsible, as controller, for processing payment data under its own privacy notice. Paddle shares with us the order details we need to provide and support your subscription.
Our apps, plugins and websites
When published, each Caravel app will have its own privacy policy describing the store data it processes. Merchants install apps through Shopify, which also processes data under its own policies.
Our WordPress plugins run on your own site, store their settings and data there and make no calls to us or to third parties. If you subscribe to Caravel Sites, we host your website and process its content and the messages sent through its contact form on your behalf, as processor (article 28 GDPR); we will agree the data processing terms with you before the service starts.
Sharing and transfers
We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising. We only use service providers that act on our instructions (hosting and email), plus Paddle for payments as described above. If a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, restriction of processing, data portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Write to caravel@caravelsuite.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt), or the authority of your country.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change and show the date of the latest version below.
